Gainesville Man Arrested for Threatening Relatives with Firearm

A 62-year-old Gainesville man, Porfirio Galvez, remains in the Hall County Jail without bond after allegedly threatening relatives with a firearm on Friday night.

According to the Hall County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to a residence on Rose Petal Street at around 9:10 p.m. following a verbal argument between Galvez and a male family member.

During the argument, Galvez reportedly pulled a firearm,

threatened to kill everyone in the house
and then discharged the weapon into the air. Deputies recovered a bullet casing on the ground in the area where Galvez had fired the weapon.

Galvez fled the scene in a silver Honda Accord prior to the arrival of deputies, but was later arrested and taken into custody.
