Men's Basketball: Florida Atlantic Wins in Overtime Thriller

Florida Atlantic men's basketball secured its first win of the season against Boston College on Monday night, with guard Yohann Sissoko hitting a game-saving three-pointer in an overtime thriller, ending 83-78.

The match took place at a sold-out Eleanor R. Baldwin Arena, marking the third time a power conference opponent has played at "The Elly" in four years. This followed an electric 42-point win against Florida Tech, where guard Devin Vanterpool scored 24 points.

"I don’t know that this [game] was pretty, maybe that’s just part of it, but what our guys did show is some real fight and resolve," said head coach John Jakus.

Jakus expressed gratitude for the team's heart and the fan spirit, which helped them get back in the game when it seemed hopeless.

Author's summary: FAU wins first game of season in overtime.
