Idli Kadai Review
Tamil star-actor Dhanush plays a young culturally conflicted son of a rustic Idli maker who returns to his roots after his father’s death.
This story is similar to the recent MX Player series Mitti Ek Nayi Pehchaan and the Shah Rukh Khan starrer Swades, where the protagonist also returns to his roots.
Its extraordinariness resides in its ordinariness.
The film's first half showcases Murugan (Dhanush) following in his father Sivanesan (Rajkiran)'s footsteps, embracing simplicity and work ethics.
Similar back-to-roots sagas have been seen on television and in cinema numerous times, and Idli Kadai does not pretend to be an original or pathbreaking film.
