Local communities are preparing to remember the sacrifices of veterans. Remembrance Day ceremonies will be held at various locations across the region around and on November 11.
The first ceremony is at 2 pm on Saturday, November 8, at the cenotaph in Alfred. On Sunday, November 9, ceremonies will be held in L’Orignal and Vankleek Hill, both at 2 pm, at the respective cenotaphs.
On Remembrance Day, Tuesday, November 11, a ceremony will take place at the Hawkesbury Cenotaph, located beside Cartier Boulevard and the entrance to the Robert Hartley Sports Complex.
The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 472 in Hawkesbury is organizing these ceremonies.
