Iran Unveils Christian-Themed Metro Station
Inside Tehran's newest metro station, a plaque declares:
the message of Jesus Christ was the salvation of humans from darkness, ignorance, corruption, depravity and discrimination.The station, named Maryam-e Moqaddas or Holy Mary station, features a relief of Christ and a depiction of Mary praying among flowers.
State media characterizes the station's name and motif as a gesture of cultural coexistence, noting Mary is a venerated figure in Islam.
