Charlize Theron's New Role in 'Tyrant'
Charlize Theron is set to star in Amazon's thriller 'Tyrant', written and directed by David Weil.
The movie is set in the high-end culinary world of New York City, a departure from Theron's typical action roles in films like 'Mad Max: Fury Road' and 'The Old Guard'.
The project is produced by The Picture Company and Theron's production company, Secret Menu, with partners including Alex Heineman, Andrew Rona, Beth Kono, and AJ Dix.
The movie is based on a story by David Weil and Cody Behan.
Amazon won the rights to the project after a bidding war in August, fast-tracking development once Theron joined.
