Alice Walton Notes 'Special Day' at AWSOM Ceremonial Opening
The inaugural class of medical students at the Alice Walton School of Medicine (AWSOM) in Bentonville began studies in mid-July.
Alice Walton delivered an emotional address at the ceremonial opening on October 29, stating:
"I didn’t expect to be overwhelmed this morning, but I am. I cannot believe that we’re all actually here. It’s a special day in my life."
Walton founded AWSOM in 2021, choosing the Crystal Bridges campus as its location.
