Sarnia-Lambton health team focusing on primary care gap

Sarnia-Lambton Health Team Addresses Primary Care Gap

About 12,000 people in Sarnia-Lambton lack a primary care provider, according to Nadine Neve, head of the area's Ontario Health Team.

“It’s really about what allied health or physician roles, nurse practitioner roles do we need,”

said Neve. The Sarnia-Lambton Ontario Health Team, with six staff members, has been focused on enhancing local primary care since spring, aiming to connect every person with a family doctor or primary care provider by 2029.

Neve, executive lead of the provincially-funded agency, reported that about 43 health-care and social service providers have partnered with the team.

The team was formed in 2020 to coordinate care with various providers in the area.
