The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) has initiated proceedings against Microsoft Australia and its parent company, Microsoft Corporation, in the Federal Court.
The ACCC alleges that Microsoft misled approximately 2.7 million Australian customers regarding subscription options and price increases for Microsoft 365 plans after integrating its AI assistant, Copilot.
Since 31 October 2024, Microsoft has been allegedly misleading subscribers about their options.
