Power Mostly Restored in Burlington and Sedro-Woolley
A car crash on Saturday morning led to a large power outage in Burlington and Sedro-Woolley, with over 5,400 customers affected.
According to the Sedro-Woolley police, the crash occurred at around 7 a.m. at the intersection of Wicker Road and Fruitdale Road, causing heavy damage to multiple transformers.
- Over 1,000 Puget Sound Energy customers in Sedro-Woolley were without power as of 1 p.m.
- Traffic lights were also affected, with some intersections having battery-powered lights and others not.
The crash likely led to the large power outage, and police were able to extract the passengers and lead them away from the scene.
Power was estimated to be restored to the remaining customers by 2:30 p.m., according to PSE.
