Dodgers leave Alex Vesia off World Series roster, unlikely to add him later

Dodgers Leave Alex Vesia Off World Series Roster

The Dodgers have left Alex Vesia, a lefty relief pitcher, off their World Series roster due to a "deeply personal family matter" he and his wife, Kayla, are dealing with.

It's certainly on our hearts and we miss him, and we'll be thinking about him.

According to Manager Dave Roberts, Vesia "most likely" will miss the entire series. The Dodgers adjusted their bullpen, adding right-handers Edgardo Henriquez and Will Kl, to face the Blue Jays.

Vesia could only be added to the roster as a replacement for an injured player, as the Dodgers did not put him on family bereavement leave, which would have had a three-to-seven day limit on his absence.

Author's summary: Dodgers leave Vesia off roster due to personal matter.
