Hundreds of employees within the Agency of Human Services gathered at the state office complex in Waterbury to demonstrate the impact of the looming return-to-office order.
Emily Weidman, a Department of Vermont Health Access employee, had planned to reduce to one car to save for a home with her fiancé. However, this plan changed when Gov. Phil Scott announced that state employees would need to return to the office at least three days per week starting Dec. 1.
“We can’t do that now,”
said Weidman, who typically works in person once a month. The protest showcased the constraints that employees would face with the new order.
