Danantara is currently selecting investors to join the project.
According to Rosan Perkasa Roeslani, CEO of Indonesian sovereign wealth fund Danantara,
over 204 foreign investors are interested in the government's waste-to-energy project.
Rosan stated that the selection process for investors is expected to conclude by November 2025, followed by a bidding process, with the tender process to be completed by early 2026.
The project, led by Danantara and the ministry, aims to process 1,000 tons of waste per day into electricity for 20 thousand households across Indonesia.
Rosan noted that even if no investors are involved,
we can still run this program.
