Australians have reached a superannuation savings milestone of $172,000.
According to a peak body, there has been a "historic" retirement shift.
At ages 60 to 64, men have an average of $396,000 in superannuation savings, while women have an average of $313,000.
Some Australians are not confident about their retirement.
