Team Sunderland Wins Cameron Scarratt Trophy
Team Sunderland beat Northumbria Police on penalties to win the Cameron Scarratt Trophy, overcoming them 4-2 after the game ended 2-2 in normal time.
The University came from behind twice in the first half, with strikes from Sam Donnalley and Zain Saeed cancelling out two headed goals from the Police.
After a goalless second period, the charity game was decided on penalties for the first time in Cameron Scarratt Trophy history. Goalkeeper Yazan Top saved two out of four efforts from the spot, and Adam Lennox scored the winning penalty, finding the top left corner.
Team Sunderland won a fifth consecutive Cameron Scarratt Trophy in the sixth edition of the charity match.
