Drone Video Shows Progress on Twin pies Cork Commuter Line Upgrade
Part of a €1bn investment in Irish rail travel, the twin-track upgrade of Cork's busiest commuter rail line is underway.
A brand new track between Glounthaune and Midleton has been completed, with Iarnród Éireann crews repositioning the original track to make space for the new second line.
Additional works, including signalling, telecommunications, and commissioning, will follow, allowing for more commuter services to be introduced.
Improvement works are also being carried out on the Cobh and Mallow lines.
