France Defeats Azerbaijan
France moved closer to World Cup qualification with a 3-0 win over Azerbaijan, thanks to goals from Kylian Mbappe, Adrien Rabiot, and Florian Thauvin.
The win keeps France top of Group D with 9 points, 5 points ahead of Ukraine. France can secure their spot in the World Cup with a win in Iceland on Monday, if Ukraine fails to beat Azerbaijan.
"I'm not going to jump for joy, we won, we scored three, but we could have got more,"
said coach Didier Deschamps, who was part of the team that scored 10 goals against Azerbaijan in 1995.
