Kilkenny Project Receives Funding
The Housing Finance Agency has announced the recipients of its Social Investment Fund, with 19 projects nationwide sharing in a €500,000 fund.
In Kilkenny, the Oaklee project has been successful in its bid to develop a Communal Sensory Garden at Walkinslough Court.
- The garden will feature accessible furniture and raised planter beds.
- It will also include water features, sensory elements, and a mural.
The aim is to transform an underused outdoor space into an inclusive, therapeutic environment for residents and service users.
The project will particularly benefit adults with intellectual disabilities and autism from SOS Kilkenny, promoting wellbeing, social inclusion, and community pride.
