The Canucks burst out of the gate with three first-period goals, then held on for a 4-3 win over the host Washington Capitals in NHL action Sunday at Capital One Arena. Vancouver has won three games in a row, all on the road in less than 72 hours.
Charlie Lindgren took the loss in goal, stopping 19 of 23 shots. The Canucks scored on the first shot of the game, when Conor Garland made a pass from the right corner to Pettersson, who beat Lindgren from the bottom of the circle for his first goal of the year 59 seconds in.
