Berkshire County Fire Chief Accused of Tax Evasion
A Berkshire County fire chief, Michael D. Grillo, has been charged with 34 tax-related offenses in his home state.
According to reports from The Berkshire Eagle, Grillo, who is the Sandisfield Fire Chief, owned companies that provided landscaping and facilities management services to businesses in New England and New York.
- Failed to pay $34,000 in sales and use taxes
- Failed to pay nearly $98,000 in payroll taxes
- Did not file state income taxes for three years
These are clerical errors - Stuart Ratner, Grillo's attorney
