CSP welcomes report on community rehab crisis that threatens NHS neighbourhood care plans

CSP Welcomes Report on Community Rehab Crisis

The CSP has welcomed a new report highlighting the growing crisis in community health services, warning that under-resourced community rehabilitation risks undermining the government’s promise to shift care from hospitals into neighbourhood settings.

A report from the Nuffield Trust reveals that waiting lists for community health services in England have risen sharply, with over 1.1 million people now waiting for community care, a 23% increase for adults and 58% for children and young people since 2022.

The government’s promise to shift care from hospitals into neighbourhood settings is at risk.

CSP supports the report's findings, emphasizing the need for adequate resources in community rehabilitation to ensure the government's plans for NHS neighbourhood care are successful.
