Cairo 2025: Egypt’s Powerlifting Queen Rehab Ahmed Wins Fifth Gold

Egyptian powerlifting queen Rehab Ahmed overcame a chest injury to win her fifth gold at the Cairo 2025 World Championships.

Four months after recovering from a pectoralis major tear, Ahmed clinched her first title in the women’s up to 61kg category, and her first since the Paris 2024 gold medal.

Other notable wins include China's Cui Jianjin breaking the world record twice before winning her first international gold, and Turkiye’s Abdullah Kayapinar dethroning two-time Paralympic and world champion Omar Qarada.
