Yonehachi Takashimaya: A Healthy Okowa Lunch
Yonehachi Takashimaya was not our first choice for lunch, but it turned out to be a good plan B. Located in the Orchard Road area, it is one of our favorite places for a simple meal.
The restaurant is situated in Basement 2 of Takashimaya Shopping Centre, where most of the food places in the mall are located. It is tucked away on the eastern end of the floor, along with other eateries that operate like mini restaurants.
Orders are placed and payment is made, and diners are assigned to specified tables earmarked for the respective restaurant. This setup is more casual than the 'proper' restaurants on the higher levels of the mall, such as Crystal Jade and Hanare by Takayama, which can be too serious and expensive for a quick meal.
Menu options include the Shio Salmon Shokado set ($18.90) and Chicken Cutlet Shokado set ($16.90).
