No Survivors Found After Tennessee Explosives Plant Blast
Sixteen people missing after a major explosion at a Tennessee munitions factory are presumed dead, according to Humphreys County Sheriff Chris Davis.
Recovery teams had been hoping to find the missing alive, but as of yesterday evening,
"it's safe" to assume they are deceased, says Sheriff Davis.
- Originally, authorities feared 18 people had died, but two people believed present during the blast were actually not at the site and have been located.
- The cause of the explosion at the explosives plant in Bucksnort, Tennessee, remains unclear.
- More than 300 state and local first responders have been searching the site since Friday morning.
The plant is located roughly 56 miles south-west of Nashville.
