Meet Nitro, Picayune's New Bomb-Sniffing K9
Picayune's newest police officer, Nitro, is a 19-month-old, 60-pound British Labrador Retriever from Prairie Plains British Labrador Kennels & Training in Brewton, Ala.
Nitro can sniff out bombs, catch a high-flying Frisbee, and sit like a good boy, making him a valuable addition to the Picayune Police Department.
Historically, British Labs were bred as retriever dogs for fishermen and hunters, with a strong drive to retrieve and exceptional scent detection abilities.
Nitro will be utilizing his skills to smell for explosives for the Picayune PD.
