NMSU Hosts Imagining America National Gathering
Hundreds of people gathered at New Mexico State University for the 25th anniversary of the Imagining America Gathering.
The three-day event began on October 3 with a joyful opening plenary, featuring mariachis and ballet folklórico dancers.
Patrick Narvaez, Tortugas Pueblo Cacique, opened the event with a blessing for participants.
NMSU President Valerio Ferme! and IA Managing Director Stephanie Maroney welcomed the audience of scholars, students, and community members.
Ferme thanked the Imagining America leadership for their vision in creating the annual event 25 years ago.
