Vicksburg's Bicentennial Time Capsule to Be Unearthed

Vicksburg officials will open a 50-year-old time capsule on Friday at the Warren County Courthouse as part of the city's bicentennial celebration.

Fifty years ago, Peggy Sue Fulghum watched as a time capsule was buried across from the courthouse. Now, she and her daughter, Jennifer Fulghum Lewis, will witness its unearthing at 12:30 p.m. on the 17th.

"I am so glad my daughter is going to be able to come, since she was the youngest one to sign,"

Fulghum's daughter had signed a Bicentennial scroll created by the Vicksburg Bicentennial Commission as a fundraiser.
