Welsh-speaking Community Grants Scheme Expanded
Community groups across Wales can now apply for grants of up to £10,000 to help them start a social business or community-led housing project.
The scheme has supported Welsh-speaking communities with high densities of second homes for over three years, awarding 64 grants across Gwynedd, Conwy, Anglesey, Ceredigion, Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire.
The grant scheme has now been expanded to the whole of Wales, with funding increased to £400,000 for this year.
One example of the scheme's success is the
Bys a Bawd Pawbproject in Llanrwst, Conwy, where the community came together to buy and run a shop that has served the community for 50 years.
