Taylorville, Illinois (WAND) — Taylorville Memorial Hospital has launched its annual “Frosty Footsteps” walking challenge to inspire residents to stay active during the winter season. The community fitness initiative encourages individuals and teams to log their daily steps throughout the cold months.
The hospital designed the program to promote physical activity and wellness even when outdoor exercise becomes less inviting. Participants can track their progress using personal fitness devices or apps and report their steps at regular intervals.
Residents of all ages are invited to join, either individually or as part of a group. The challenge will run for several weeks, with small incentives and recognition given to those who meet their step goals. Registration is open through the hospital’s community outreach page.
“This challenge helps motivate people to maintain healthy habits year-round,” a hospital representative said.
The event is part of Taylorville Memorial’s continued effort to encourage healthy lifestyles and community engagement across Christian County.
