Australian police have completed their fourth major search for four-year-old Gus Lamont, who went missing on September 27, but reported finding no new evidence. The latest operation covered bushland west of Narrandera, where the child was last seen.
Police, assisted by SES volunteers and specialist teams, spent several days combing dense terrain, examining waterholes, and using drones and thermal imaging equipment. Despite extensive efforts, authorities confirmed that no signs of the missing boy or new evidence had been located.
A police spokesperson stated:
“Investigators remain committed to finding answers for Gus’s family and will continue following all available leads.”
Gus disappeared while playing near his family’s property in rural New South Wales. Previous searches had spanned several hundred hectares, involving air support and canine units. The rural community continues to assist police and support the family as investigations continue.
Local residents have organized regular gatherings to maintain awareness and support ongoing search efforts. Gus’s family has expressed gratitude to the public and emergency services for their continued assistance and compassion.
“We are holding onto hope and remain thankful for everyone who hasn’t given up,” said a family statement shared through police.
