The Navan O’Mahonys Peil For All team wrapped up their season with an exhibition match at Paddy O’Brien Park earlier this month. Now in its fourth year, this inclusive GAA initiative—led by Kate O’Neill—continues to flourish.
Roughly 20 adult players have been training weekly since March, with support from members across all divisions of the club who joined in the showcase game. It provided a wonderful platform for participants to display the skills and confidence they gained throughout the year.
Following the match, Meath Ladies goalkeeper Robyn Murray and under-20 captain Sarah Maguire presented medals to the players. Coach Aaron Coyle also surprised participants with custom team gear, funded through donations he collected while completing the 2024 Dublin Marathon.
This celebration crowned an outstanding year that even featured a training session on the revered turf of Croke Park. The Peil For All Programme welcomes adults with physical and intellectual disabilities free of charge, offering an encouraging and spirited environment for all. Training is scheduled to resume in spring 2026.
The club also runs a companion programme for children under the guidance of Health and Wellbeing Officer Eunice Murtagh, further expanding its commitment to inclusivity and community engagement.
“New players are always welcome and training will be resuming in the spring of 2026.”
Navan O’Mahonys’ inclusive GAA team ended its fourth season with celebration, medals, and unity, proving that the Peil For All initiative continues to thrive in spirit and participation.
