The Unrivaled season kicks off on January 5, with some games taking place in Philadelphia on January 1. For the second time this year, the first pick in the Unrivaled draft went to The Breeze, one of two new teams in the 3-on-3 league that plays in Miami each winter.
The Hive, the other expansion team, had the No. 2 pick and selected Kelsey Mitchell.
Players were divided into six position-based pods of guards, wings, and forwards with six rounds total, alternating picks among the eight teams.
The four playoff teams from last season — Rose, Lunar Owls, Vinyl, and Laces — were allowed to protect two players each from being drafted by the new teams. The Phantom and Mist, who did not make the playoffs, could each protect one player.
