David Auburn’s Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning play Proof is now available for tickets. The revival stars Ayo Edebiri and Don Cheadle, alongside Samira Wiley and Jin Ha.
The play will be staged at the Booth Theatre, beginning previews on March 31, 2026, with an official opening night on April 16. The production is directed by Tony winner Thomas Kail.
Proof follows Catherine (played by Edebiri), the gifted but troubled daughter of a celebrated mathematics professor, Robert (played by Cheadle). After Robert's death, Catherine faces upheaval when a notebook containing a groundbreaking proof is found. As disputes arise over who actually wrote it, Catherine struggles with the weight of her father’s legacy and the challenge of proving her own genius.
