Samira Wiley and Jin Ha Join Broadway Revival of "Proof"
Emmy Award winner Samira Wiley and Hamilton alum Jin Ha will complete the cast of David Auburn’s acclaimed drama Proof, joining Ayo Edebiri and Don Cheadle. The production marks the first Broadway revival of Auburn’s Pulitzer and Tony Award-winning play.
Performances will run for 16 weeks at the Booth Theatre, beginning March 31, with an official opening on April 16. The show is directed by Thomas Kail.
About the Cast
- Samira Wiley makes her Broadway debut as Claire. Known for her Emmy-winning role in The Handmaid’s Tale and her SAG Award-winning performance in Orange Is the New Black, Wiley has also appeared on stage in Intimate Apparel and Blues for an Alabama Sky.
- Jin Ha, who plays Hal, has previously appeared in Hamilton and Here We Are, as well as the television series Pachinko.
- Ayo Edebiri portrays Catherine, and Don Cheadle takes on the role of Robert. Both also make their Broadway debuts with this production.
The Story
Proof explores the life of a young woman whose father, a brilliant but unstable mathematician, leaves behind a groundbreaking proof after his death. When questions arise about who truly authored it, she faces personal and professional upheaval.
