The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for heavy rain, advising residents in 20 areas across South Wales and southwest England to prepare an emergency flood kit and essential supplies.
The alert came into effect at midday today and remains until 8 a.m. tomorrow. According to forecasters, rain will become heavier and more widespread before easing early Wednesday morning.
"If so, consider preparing a flood plan and an emergency flood kit. Give yourself the best chance of avoiding delays by checking road conditions if driving, or bus and train timetables, amending your travel plans if necessary."
The Met Office also advises checking if properties are at flood risk and preparing for possible power cuts by keeping torches, batteries, and mobile chargers ready.
"Cloudy once more, with outbreaks of rain."
Conditions are expected to stay unsettled throughout Wednesday as the wet weather continues.
