Adjusting Practice for Faster Starts

Colorado State University is refining its football practices to focus on quicker starts as they gear up for the matchup against UNLV. The team is emphasizing consistency and discipline across all phases of play.

Player Perspective: Focus and Execution

“I think it's like any other week, to be honest. I've said it a lot, it's going back to our 1/11s — if everyone does their jobs and we contain this quarterback and we do what we're supposed to do, we're gonna be just fine,” said safety Jake Jarmolowich.

Jarmolowich noted that discipline remains the backbone of success, reminding teammates that losing focus can lead to mistakes such as oversetting a gap or missing an assignment. He highlighted the importance of staying alert against a versatile UNLV offense.

UNLV's Offensive Strength

UNLV enters the game with the top-scoring offense in the Mountain West Conference, averaging 36.9 points per game. Their lowest total this season was 30 points in a win over UCLA in early September. They also recorded a season-high 51 points in a shootout victory over Air Force, winning 51–48.

The Rebels maintain a strong rushing game, ranking second only to Air Force with 193.4 yards per game and leading the conference with 5.39 yards per carry.
