The Miami Heat and the Portland Trail Blazers, two of the NBA’s fastest teams, faced off Saturday night at Kaseya Center in a fast-paced game that came down to the final moments. Miami ultimately prevailed 136-131, improving its record to 6-4 despite the continued absences of Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro.
The game unfolded as a sequence of rapid surges, with both teams trading momentum. In the end, decisive plays from Jaime Jaquez Jr., Norman Powell, and Andrew Wiggins sealed Miami’s win.
Nikola Jovic led the Heat with a career-best 29 points. Powell contributed 22, Pelle Larsson added 16, Wiggins scored 15, and Jaquez provided 14 points, 12 rebounds, and seven assists.
“Obviously our guys are getting pretty comfortable with it,” said Miami coach Erik Spoelstra. “I’m not putting the brakes on anybody who is trying to attack.”
“It’s an offense where it can be anybody’s night,” Jaquez noted. “Tonight, it was Niko.”
“You can see the way it makes everybody look better,” Jovic said.
The Heat’s relentless pace and depth continue to power their success, even while key players recover.
Miami’s up-tempo strategy and team depth fueled a 136-131 win over Portland, highlighted by Nikola Jovic’s career-high performance and clutch contributions down the stretch.
