Hebridean Distillery Secures £1.5 Million Funding
The Benbecula Distillery has secured a £1.5m investment from the British Business Bank’s Investment Fund for Scotland.
The funding will be used to scale up production, support the whisky maturation process, and expand headcount.
- Reviving a recipe over 130 years old
- Production began last spring
- Visitor centre and café opened this April
The business is led by founder Angus MacMillan and managing director Hector MacLeod.
Distilling is overseen by master distiller Brendan McCarron, with experience from Moët Hennessy and Distell.
