Graham “Richo” Richardson, a longtime Labor senator, party powerbroker, and media commentator, has died at the age of 76.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese praised Richardson, saying he “wasn’t perfect” but was fiercely loyal. The news of his passing was shared early Saturday by 2GB Breakfast host Ben Fordham, who spoke with Richardson’s wife, Amanda, and son, D’Arcy.
After weeks of battling influenza and pneumonia, and a long fight with cancer, Richardson passed away at 3:50 a.m. on Saturday, according to his family.
