Mail Service to Canada Will Resume Next Week

Mail deliveries from Bermuda to Canada are expected to restart next week amid ongoing rotating strikes by Canada Post workers.

A spokeswoman for the Bermuda Post Office confirmed that mail shipments to Canada will resume on Monday but warned of potential delivery delays due to ongoing disruptions.

“The BPO appreciates the public’s patience and co-operation during this time.”

Postal services to Canada had been suspended in late September following a nationwide strike by the Canadian Union of Postal Workers. The union later changed course, suspending the national action in favor of rotating strikes, which allowed limited service to resume.

The Bermuda Post Office also announced that all local branches will close at noon tomorrow for a staff event.

“The BPO apologises for any inconvenience this early closure may cause.”

Summary

The Bermuda Post Office will restart mail to Canada next week, though delivery delays remain possible due to ongoing rotating strikes at Canada Post.
