The Brit 50: Riff Raff Entertainment

Jude Law and his producing partner Ben Jackson are currently developing a range of writer-led projects under their company, Riff Raff Entertainment. The company’s upcoming works include Sharon Horgan’s first feature screenplay and a 1960s drama written by Justin Kuritzkes, known for “Challengers.”

Company Origins

Law and Jackson first met in a Primrose Hill pub in London in 2000. They later founded Riff Raff Entertainment in 2017, shaping it into a boutique yet ambitious production house. Notable earlier works include Harry Wootliff’s “True Things” (2021). Following this success, Calculus Capital invested in the company in 2022.

Key Productions and Partnerships

Before the 2023 US writers’ and actors’ strikes, Riff Raff completed Justin Kurzel’s The Order. When the industry resumed, they filmed the Netflix series Black Rabbit. The company has since built strong alliances, securing a first-look deal with Anton for film projects and Studio TF1 for television.

“It’s win-win for us,” said Jackson about the deal with the interconnected companies. “We can take a project to them and they can put it with the team that likes the project.”

Future Vision

Riff Raff now has a vibrant roster of writer-driven projects and plans to open a Los Angeles office. Law emphasized the importance of new creative voices and teamwork in the studio’s future.

“We’re hoping to expand through the involvement and the tastes of the people who are leading the development team,” said Law. “Nurturing other people’s ideas and passions is key to our long-term survival.”

Author’s Summary

Riff Raff Entertainment, founded by Jude Law and Ben Jackson, is evolving into a dynamic production company that champions creativity, collaboration, and writer-led storytelling.
