Ramsay upbeat despite Minnesota's Game 2 loss to Seattle

Minnesota United return home determined to rebound after a 4-2 defeat to the Seattle Sounders in Game 2 of their playoff series. Head coach Eric Ramsay remains confident in the team's potential to advance to the Western Conference semifinals, even after being pushed to a decisive Game 3.

In Game 1, Minnesota secured victory on penalties following a goalless draw. However, during their visit to Lumen Field on Tuesday, Seattle’s explosive start left them trailing 3-0 by the 41st minute. The visitors fought back with two goals in first-half stoppage time but couldn’t complete the comeback, conceding again in the 86th minute to a second goal from Obed Vargas.

“With us coming from behind, I now look forward really positively to Saturday,” Ramsay said. “I think the players will, and that is ultimately, if we weren't going to win Game 2, that is the consolation. We have home advantage, and playing at home in the Allianz, we'll certainly give ourselves the best chance.”

Seattle ended their three-game losing streak against Minnesota in league competition with this win. Sounders coach Brian Schmetzer expects Minnesota to respond strongly but believes his team can maintain their momentum from Game 2.
