Robert Pattinson has been involved in multiple major projects recently, but his experience filming Dune: Part Three tested his endurance in extreme conditions. The actor described working under the harsh desert sun alongside director Denis Villeneuve as far from easy.
“When I was doing Dune it was so hot in the desert that I just couldn’t question anything,” Pattinson said. “And it was so relaxing, like my brain actually wasn’t operating. I did not have a single functioning brain cell. And I was just listening to Denis [Villeneuve]: ‘Whatever you want!’”
The forthcoming film continues Villeneuve’s ambitious adaptation of Frank Herbert’s classic sci-fi saga. Dune: Part Three focuses on the storyline from Dune Messiah (1969), exploring Paul Atreides’ challenges following his rise to Emperor Muad’Dib and the consequences of his Fremen-led jihad.
Robert Pattinson is set to portray Scytale, a villainous and significant character within the Dune universe.
Robert Pattinson revealed that filming Dune: Part Three under scorching desert heat was mentally draining but highlighted his complete trust in director Denis Villeneuve during the intense shoot.
