The International Cricket Council (ICC) has suspended Pakistan fast bowler Haris Rauf for two matches due to breaches of its code of conduct during the Asia Cup Twenty20 matches against India.
Rauf received a total of four demerit points from two separate violations in the games against India in September. The ICC stated that Rauf violated the article relating to bringing the game into disrepute. He denied both charges, but after formal hearings, the suspension was confirmed.
The two-match ban means Rauf will miss the first two matches of the ODI series against South Africa and will only be eligible to play from the third match onwards in Faisalabad.
"Rauf breached the article that concerns bringing the game into disrepute," ICC said.
"Indian players refused to shake hands with Pakistan players during all the three Asia Cup games, including no handshakes at the toss."
