Jitesh Sharma to Lead India A in Rising Stars Asia Cup

India have been placed in Group B alongside Oman, UAE, and Pakistan A. The Rising Stars Asia Cup is scheduled to be held in Qatar from November 14 to November 23, according to a press release by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on November 4.

Leadership and Key Players

Jitesh Sharma, currently representing India in the T20I series in Australia, has been appointed captain of the India A squad. Naman Dhir will serve as the vice-captain for the 15-member team.

“Jitesh Sharma will lead India A in the Rising Stars Asia Cup in Qatar while Naman Dhir has been named vice-captain,” BCCI stated.

The team features promising openers Priyansh Arya and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who have risen to prominence through their performances in the IPL 2025 season. The middle order, studded with players like Nehal Wadhera, Dhir, Suryansh Shedge, Ramandeep Singh, and Ashutosh Sharma, brings both power and versatility to the lineup. Abhishek Porel joins as the second wicketkeeper-batter.

Bowling Options and Standby Players

The pace attack will be led by Gurjapneet Singh, Yash Thakur, Vijay Kumar Vyshak, and Yudhvir Singh Charak. Spin responsibilities fall to Suyash Sharma and Harsh Dubey. The BCCI has also named five standby players: Gurnoor Singh Brar, Kumar Kushagra, Tanush Kotian, Sameer Rizvi, and Shaik Rasheed.
