The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) is preparing to profile workers displaced in Cebu as a result of Typhoon Tino.
DOLE-Central Visayas Director Atty. Roy Buenafe announced that a rapid response team has been deployed to evaluate the typhoon’s impact on local businesses and to identify affected workers.
“DOLE Regional Office VII moved swiftly to assess the impact on workers and will provide them with the support they need,” said Buenafe.
Buenafe emphasized the human aspect beyond statistics, highlighting the plight of workers who lost their livelihoods and families facing severe hardship.
“Beyond the numbers, it is the people who matter — the workers who have lost their livelihoods, the families who are facing unimaginable hardship,” he stated.
Assistance will be promptly given to displaced workers. DOLE Central Visayas will continue monitoring the situation, cooperating with local governments, and delivering timely help to rebuild lives and restore hope in the communities affected.
