Amid rising geopolitical tensions and growing social divides, global leaders at the Second World Summit for Social Development adopted the Doha Political Declaration on Tuesday. This move signals a renewed commitment to promoting justice and inclusion worldwide.
The Declaration shows a united pledge by governments to address poverty, generate decent employment, fight discrimination, expand social protection, and uphold human rights. It stresses that social development is both a moral duty and a foundation for peace, stability, and sustainable growth.
The Summit gathered over 14,000 participants, including more than 40 Heads of State and Government, 170 ministers, international organization leaders, youth representatives, civil society members, and experts.
At Qatar National Convention Centre in Doha, delegates engaged in meetings and vibrant networking sessions filled with students, activists, and community leaders, highlighting that social progress requires broad collaboration beyond governments alone.
