Zarine Khan's son, Zayed Khan, performed the final rites as per Hindu customs. Before marrying Sanjay Khan, Zarine was a practising Hindu with the maiden surname Katrak. Honouring her family heritage and wishes, the rituals followed Hindu traditions.
In a video from the ceremony, Zayed Khan appeared emotional, with tears in his eyes while performing the rites.
