Chicago weather: About that upcoming threat of snow...

Chicago Weather Outlook: Upcoming Snow Threat

Mild and breezy conditions will persist through Friday before a weekend storm brings cooler temperatures. FOX 32's Mike Caplan shares the latest weather update.

Weekday Weather Overview

Chicago will enjoy pleasant November weather for the remainder of the workweek. Today will feature mostly cloudy to partly sunny skies with highs in the lower 60s. Winds will be lighter compared to yesterday but will increase overnight and into tomorrow.

Tonight, temperatures will stay in the 50s, which is near the average high for this time of year. Tomorrow is expected to be the third consecutive day with highs above 60, accompanied by a mix of clouds and sun. Winds will become gusty, reaching up to 30 mph.

Storm Arrival and Weekend Forecast

By Thursday, a new storm system will approach. The day should remain dry with highs in the mid to upper 50s. Late Thursday night into Friday morning will bring showers and possibly some embedded thunderstorms.

After the rain moves out Friday morning, the day will be breezy and mild again, with temperatures in the lower 60s.

Another storm is likely to arrive Saturday afternoon, producing showers with highs in the lower 50s. This will be followed by a significant drop in temperature on Sunday as much colder air moves in.

The precipitation is expected to end Sunday morning and clear most areas before the Bears game.

Snowfall Predictions

The US model has scaled back its ridiculous snowfall prediction from yesterday.

Despite early alarm about possible snow Sunday or Monday, current forecasts have reduced expectations for significant accumulation.

Author's Summary

This week brings mild weather with a weekend storm cooling the region and dampening snowfall predictions compared to earlier forecasts.
