Aggro Crab and Landfall's breakout co-op climbing game, Peak, is getting weirder with its next free update. The game has become a big hit for indie studios Aggro Crab and Landfall, attracting more groups of friends eager to survive challenging climbs.
The latest free update, called The Roots, introduces a new biome inspired by the forests of the Pacific Northwest. While players still climb, the environment shifts to dense forests with towering trees presenting a fresh challenge.
The update also improves the cooking mechanics:
"The challenge rises with giant insects on the hunt, like giant spiders that will cocoon players up in webs and drop them, potentially for a long plummet down."
"It's now possible to see effects on non-food items when placed in a fire, though none of the devs are saying what happens, which should encourage some experimentation."
The full patch notes are available on Steam.
Author’s summary: The Roots update adds eerie forest elements and new survival challenges to Peak, deepening gameplay with giant insects, toxic mushrooms, and mysterious fire experiments.
